The Second Life video installation i.Mirror was presented in China Power Station: Part II exhibition at Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, Oslo. Cao Fei was one of 24 young artists representing the new generation of contemporary Chinese art chosen by three curators (Gunnar B. Kvaran, Hans Ulrich Obrist and Julia Peyton Jones).

RMB City : A Second Life City Planning was first released in the 10th Istanbul Biennale. The public was able to view the RMB City video or go online via laptops to the Second Life RMB City site throughout the days of the exhibition.

Cao Fei was one of the four women artists representing China in the 52nd Venice Biennale chosen by curator Hou Hanru, Cao Fei debuted her first Second Life project there entitled China Tracy Pavilion: the real life pavilion was an inflatable house that mirrored the Virgin Garden in Second Life.
